Nashville Flood

This weekend was incredibly disastrous for many people in middle Tennessee, where I live. I work as a 911 dispatcher for one of the counties affected by the floods and it was so heartbreaking to hear the calls coming in. Lives lost, people trapped, property destroyed, out of state loved ones trying to find their family members. I believe last count there were 15 confirmed dead.

Please keep these families in your prayers. There was so much destruction, it will take many of these people a long time to recover from this. Most have no flood insurance and many are without power or water and may still be for days. One news clip shows our church building floating down I-24 and breaking into pieces.

It is nice to know that when people are hurting there are those out there willing to help. I had many calls from citizens calling in offering their boats and time for rescues and temporary homes for pets. It was very heartwarming to see so many pull together.
